Escudilla Mountain in White

This shot was taken from our backyard just north of Escudilla Mountain in Nutrioso, Arizona. Clouds were covering the top of Escudilla as in winter they do so well. There is a road that goes to the top of the mountain and you can drive around the top of it. Elk are usually up there during the spring and summer because of the great grazing they find. Like a friend of mine said you see Escudilla and you know you are home if you live in this area.

  • Snow on the Black River I...You would think there is no snow in Arizona but you would be wrong. There was about 10 inches of snow on the road running next to the East Fork of the Black River and ice on much of the river itself. The Black River runs through the White Mountains of Arizona, the East Fork runs through a canyon that even though the Wallow Fire did burn some of it is still a beautiful area to camp and visit for the wildlife and scenery.
  • Seventh and Main at Christmas 1...Taken in front of where I live at 11:00 p.m. the temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and still snowing at that time.
  • Seventh and Main at Christmas 2...Taken in front of where I live at 11:00 p.m. the temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and still snowing at that time.
  • Seventh and Main at Christmas 3...Taken in front of where I live at 11:00 p.m. the temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and still snowing at that time.
  • Seventh and Main at Christmas 4...Taken in front of where I live at 11:00 p.m. the temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and still snowing at that time.
  • Seventh and Main at Christmas 5...Taken in front of where I live at 11:00 p.m. the temperature was 12 degrees Fahrenheit and still snowing at that time.
  • My Sidewalk...taken on my birthday just before Christmas of 2011, temperature was around 12-14F and still snowing when I took this shot. Though the weather channel said we only received about three inches I measured and it was ten inches.
